Van Bowman

Burlington, NC Van Lindley Bowman, age 92, of Wade Coble Drive went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Twin Lakes Center. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of the late Kathleen Foster Bowman and Pearl Joyner Bowman who survives. Van retired from the US Department of Agriculture as a NC Meat Inspector. He was a member of Union Ridge Church and a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Joyner Bowman of Leonardtown, Maryland; daughter and son-in-law, Vanda Kay Boggs and her husband, Harold Dean of Burlington; son and daughter-in-law, Mac D. Bowman and his wife, Sue of Burlington; grandchildren, Gary Boggs and his wife, Donna of Burlington, Vanessa Surles and her husband, Charles of High Point, Doug Bowman and his wife, Mary Jane of Semora and Vance Bowman and his wife, Angie of Six Mile, South Carolina; eight great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Bowman and his wife, Avalee of Wallace and Howard Bowman and his wife, Myrtle of Liberty. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Foster Bowman; parents, Lawrence and Callie Clapp Bowman; sister, Ruth B. Terrell; brothers, H. L. Mutt Bowman, H. L. Jeff Bowman, Richard and Vernon Bowman. The family would like to express their appreciation for the outstanding care and love by the Twin Lakes Staff at the Coble Health Care Center. A committal service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Union Ridge Church by Rev. Dan Ficklin and the burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church and other times at the home of the daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Harold Dean Boggs, 6231 Union Ridge Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
