Gibsonville – Vallie Mae Capps Smith, 77 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Wesley Long Hospital. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Earl Monroe Smith. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Hamilton Kapps and Elsie Augusta Lowe Ingle Capps.

Vallie worked in Textiles for many years and attended Gibsonville Christian Church. She enjoyed collecting dolls and family pictures and spending time with friends. Vallie loved her family and had a heart of compassion for others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her sisters, Pauline Ingle Baldwin, Katherine LaVerne Johnson and husband, Robert and brothers, William “Willie” Ingle and wife, Barbara and Talmadge Ingle; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sister, Eva Mae McGuire and brothers, Howard, James and Haywood Ingle.

There will be a private graveside service at Alamance Memorial Park on Monday, April 6, 2020.
