Vallie Palmer

Vallie O'Neil Brown Palmer, age 83, of Whitsett, passed away on August 9, 2018 at Peak Resources after several months of failing health.

She was the daughter of the late Andrew A. Brown and the late Mary Elizabeth Davis Brown and was married for over 57 years to the late Mr. James Theodore Palmer, Sr. Vallie was a registered nurse and she received an Associates degree. She was a member of Springwood Presbyterian Church and a volunteer for many years with the Whitsett Fire Department.

Vallie is survived by her son, James T. Palmer, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Burlington; a daughter, Vicki Palmer Haithcock of Snow Camp; six grandchildren, Christopher James Palmer (Larrisa), Daniel Lee Palmer, Charles Andrew Palmer (Brandy), Joseph Donald Palmer, Brandi OA Haithcock and Lee Palmer Haithcock; eight great grandchildren, Lilly, Skylar, Braxton, Bella and Halie Palmer, Braylen Miller, Seth and Ben Carter; sister, Clara Combs; two brothers, Melvin Brown and Andy Dale Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two brothers, Bobby Brown and James Brown; a sister, Pauline Duckworth.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Springwood Presbyterian Church by Rev. Mary Beth Hatch Lawson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 PM Saturday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the daughter, Vicki's home.
