Uri "UA" Paschal, Jr.

Burlington-Uri Alvin “UA” Paschal, Jr., 92, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Hospice Home. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of the late Erma Foy Perry Paschal.

UA retired as an auto mechanics teacher at Western Alamance High School and was the owner and operator of UA Paschal Garage for many years.. He was a proud US Army veteran of WW II. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed spending time with his family. UA enjoyed Nascar, gardening, fishing, going to auctions and was a member of a CB Radio Club. He spent many happy hours watching the Lawrence Welk and Johnny Carson shows.

Survivors include his daughters, Julie Guffey and husband, Tim of Burlington and Donna Knighten of Price George, Virginia; sons, Jimmy Paschal and David Paschal both of Burlington; grandchildren, Kerrii (Robert) Lidke, Nicholas Guffey, Sarah Knighten, Dylan Knighten and Jessica Paschal; great grandchildren, Adalyn Guffey and Kamryne Simmons. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Uri Alexander and Wilsie Kate Greeson Paschal; brothers, Bill, Ray, and twin sons, Harold and Harvey Paschal.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice and Alamance House for their kind and compassionate care for UA.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 2:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Grinnell and Rev. Andy Wood. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors by the US Army.  The family will receive friends from 4-6PM on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of the daughter, Julie Guffey.
