Treva "Billie" Amick Janey, age 98, passed away October 16, 2020 and came to rest in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Billie was born September 18, 1922 in Graham, NC to the late Percy Hazelwood Amick and Czarina Murray Amick. After completing secondary education she attended and graduated from Louisburg College and thereafter was employed as a secretary.
In 1949 she married Ray Janey and soon after they started a family. Billie loved her family far and above all else and truly was the happiest of homemakers. Billie had numerous friends and the love they felt for her was only surpassed by the love she had for them. Hers was a true servant’s heart for Jesus, cheerfully and freely giving of herself without question. Davis Street United Methodist church was a central fixture in her life and in the lives of her husband and children. Billie possessed a lively, joyous spirit that couldn’t help but make those around her feel cheerfully optimistic. She will be missed more than she could ever have imagined.
Billie is survived by her beloved son, Morris Janey, and cherished grandsons, Tommy Bishop, Brandon Bishop and Coleson Janey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Janey, her daughter, Rina Bishop and grandson, Spencer Janey, as well as her sister, Hazel Thompson, and two brothers, Warren Amick and John L. Amick.
A Graveside service will be held at the Historic Providence Christian Church Cemetery in Graham, NC, Monday, October 26th at 4 PM.
Memorials may be made to Davis Street United Methodist Church, 606 E. Davis Street, Burlington, NC 27215.
