Toni Satterfield

Burlington, NC Toni Satt Chevale Satterfield, age 52, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Hospice Home. He was a native of Alamance County and husband of the late Valencia Goins Satterfield. Toni was a 1977 graduate of Cummings High School where he lettered all four years in football, baseball and basketball. He played football in the Shrine Bowl and was drafted by Major League Baseball after graduation. Toni was a member of Greater Love World Outreach and attended Christian Tabernacle and an active member of The Piedmont Men of Steel Ministry. Toni served his country in the US Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS America. He is survived by his daughter, Saacha Satterfield of Burlington; granddaughters, Marcedes and Destiny Murdock; sister, Brenda David Poteat of Haw River and brothers, John Satterfield, Jr. of Badin, NC and Albert Satterfield of Burlington; nephew, Derek Poteat and a niece, Tonia Poteat. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, John Thomas Satterfield, Sr. and Mary Udile Wade Satterfield; brother, Larry Satterfield. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Woody Lamm, Rev. Herb Spruill and Rev. Ron Harris and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
