Timothy "Tim" Kerns

Timothy “Tim” Wayne Kerns, 62, formerly of Mebane passed away suddenly at his residence in Sun Prairie, WI.  He was born on April 22, 1959 in Alamance County to the late John Mack Kerns and Elizabeth “Betsy” Buchanan Kerns.

Tim was the manager at Badger Bus in Wisconsin.  He was a 1977 graduate of Western Alamance High School, he attended Elon College from 1977 to 1981 where he was a member of the Emanon Jazz Ensemble and charter member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.  Tim enjoyed Marksmen Shooting and was an avid sports fan of baseball and basketball; his favorite teams were the Yankees and the North Carolina Tar Heels.  He loved all animals and they loved him.  Tim was a loving father, brother, son, uncle, and friend who will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his son, Joshua “Josh” Skyyler Kerns and girlfriend, Olivia Szymke; Josh’s mom, BJ Moore Kerns; a brother, Eric Kerns and wife, Angie; a niece, Bethanie Kerns Jones and husband, Delvin; nephews, Zachary Kerns, Isaac Joshi and Ethan Joshi; stepmother, Linda Barbour Kerns; and his extended family, Steve and Michelle “Shelly” Manser and their children, Matt, Jake and Grant Manser.  Tim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lori Ann Kerns.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, June 12, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 10:45am Saturday prior to the service at the church.
