Thomas Stanfield

Burlington Thomas Wade "Tom" Stanfield, 52, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Alamance County to the late Sara Lea Iseley Stanfield and the late Herbert Elwood Stanfield and was the husband of 30 years to Cindy Carroll Stanfield who survives. Tom was employed with Harris Teeter and formerly with Winn Dixie in Mebane and Burlington. He was a tobacco farmer for most of his life. Tom was a member of Baynes Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a former Sunday School teacher. Survivors other than his wife, Cindy of the home, include his daughters, Megan Carroll Stanfield and fianc, Kevin Whited and Logan Paige Stanfield both of the home; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Willie Massey of Elon, Brenda Faye Stanfield, Betty Andrews, Patricia and Keith Newcomer all of Burlington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Tommie Stanfield, David Elwood Stanfield, John and Becky Stanfield all of Burlington; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Irvin and Annie Laurie Carroll of Providence; brothers-in-law and spouses, Carl and Nan Carroll, Gary and Sherry Carroll all of Providence; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Dean Stanfield. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Baynes Baptist Church by Rev. Scott Ingram and Rev. Scott Williams with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8pm Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
