Thomas Moody

Thomas Edward Moody, 87, of Burlington passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Alamance County to the late Thomas C. and Maude Staley Moody and was the husband of Rachel Lillie Lutterloh Moody, who survives. He worked for Food World for several years and later retired from Harris Teeter. He was a member of Nall Memorial Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He is survived by his wife of the home, daughters, Debra M. Clayton of Snow Camp, Amy M. Michael Allred of Elon; grandchildren, Lisa F. Thompson, Joseph Flynn, Heather Howard, Branson Clayton, Genia Allred and Sergei Allred; sisters, Clara M. Dennis of Georgia and Ann M. Shepherd of Burlington. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice M. Flynn, brothers, Dwight and Bill Moody and sisters, Lois M. Thomas, Lucille M. Wilkerson and Margaret M. Ritezel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 8, 2013 at Pine Hill Cemetery by Dr. Wade Cox. The family will receive friends from 12:30 1:30 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory prior to the service.
