Thomas Jobe

Mr. Thomas Blake Jobe, age 71, of Elon, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Born in Alamance County he was the son of the late Horace Lee Jobe and the late Juanita Taylor Jobe and was married for over 52 years to his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Mrs. Catherine Elliott Jobe, who survives. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam era. He retired from Briggs Equipment after many years of service and was a longtime member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church. His hobbies were making walking canes, hunting, gardening and visiting with his neighbors and the seniors in the community. He also adored every second he got to spend with his granddaughter, Maddy. She was the light of his life.
Mr. Jobe is survived by his wife of the home; his daughter, Nicole Jones and her husband, Bryan, of Elon; his granddaughter, Madalyn Jones; a brother, Raymond (Faye) Jobe of Liberty; three sisters, Marie (Robert) Honeycutt of Taylors, S.C., Jeanette Register of Randelman and Deborah Hines of Gibsonville; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. C. Allen Myers III and faithful friend, Tracy Matson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at the church and other times at the residence.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice for the loving care and devotion Mr. Jobe received.
