Thomas Kenneth Gibson, 90, of The Village at Brookwood, 1880 Brookwood Ave. Apt. 313, Burlington, N.C. died Monday February 10. A native of Nutley, N.J, Thomas was the youngest child of the late Mary E. Watson and David Gibson. He was preceded in death by his brothers Wallace H. Gibson, David S. Gibson, John Gibson, Rodney P. Gibson, Joseph W. Gibson, and sister Marion E. Gibson Beck. Tom served with the 33rd Signal Construction Battalion in World War . He was a an Eagle Scout; a National Weather Observer; a member of The Old Guard of Rutgers University; the Durham Engineers' Club; the Alamance Seniors Golf Assoc.; Tau Beta Pi Engineering Society; Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity; and General Electric Co Elfun Society. He was a life long Episcopalian serving as a Lay Reader, Finance Comm chairman, and a five time Senior Warden of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Haw River, N.C, Tom spent forty years with the General Electric Co. and was a former sales manager of the General Electric Co's. Mebane N.C. operation. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, May Alice Miller Gibson of sixty-two years. He is survived by his children David T. Gibson and his wife, Lynette, of Kansas City, MO.; grandson, Lt. Michael D. Gibson U.S.N. and wife Molly A. Gibson of Chesapeake, VA. great-grandson, Jacob M. Gibson and great-granddaughter Elizabeth A. Gibson; granddaughter Jennifer L. Sullivan and husband, Michael D. Sullivan, of Kansas City, MO. and great-grand daughters, Jillian E. Sullivan and Makenzi J.Sullivan . His son, The Rev. Dr. John K. Gibson, and his wife, Cindy H. Gibson, of Cary, N.C. His son, Peter L. Gibson, and his wife, Cindy J. Gibson, and granddaughter, Meahgan N. Gibson, of Morristown, NJ His brother-in-law, Thomas R. Miller Jr., and his wife, Marianne, of Scotia, N.Y. A funeral will be conducted in The Gathering Place, The Village at Brookwood at 1:30 p.m., Friday February 14 by The Rev. Samuel K. Frazier Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St, Andrew's Episcopal Church-Outreach Fund, P.O.Box 849, Haw River, N.C. 27258.
