Burlington-Thomas Albright Faust, 92, passed away Thursday, September 04, 2014 at Alamance Health Care surrounded by his family. He was born in Alamance County on February 17, 1922 to the late DeLacy and Maggie Carter Faust and was the husband of 27 years to the late Edith Matherly Faust. Thomas was a US Air Force veteran serving in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and taught at Bartlett Yancey High School, Hugh M. Cummings High School and later Walter M. Williams High School where he was recognized as Teacher of the Year and later retired. He owned a boat marina and enjoyed spending afternoons on his boat. He also loved to fish. Thomas was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Johnny Faust and wife, Pam of Graham; daughter, Chandra Alleman of Burlington; stepson, Graham L. Andrews, Jr. of Greensboro; grandchildren, Brooke Faust, Joshua Lee Alleman, Christen Nicole Alleman; great granddaughter, Ryanne Alleman; a sister, Nancy Carter of Denver, CO and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents; son, Thomas Chandler Faust; brother, John Carter Faust and sisters, DeLacy Furman and Helen Welch. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Keith Jones with the entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home.
