Thomas Edmonds

Thomas Jackson "Jack" Edmonds, 82, of 2157 Herron Rd. passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Hazel Michael Edmonds for sixty-one years. He was born July 20, 1927 in Surry County to the late Joseph Roscoe and Joanna Elizabeth Snow Edmonds. Jack served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Big Jim's Appliance and then was the owner operator of Jack's Appliance Service for thirty-four years until his health made it impossible to continue. Jack was a member of Brown Wesleyan Church for over sixty-three years and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class. He loved to go to Gibsonville to the Around the Green on Saturdays. He was a grandpa to all the other children of the church besides his own grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of the home, daughters; Jackie Faith Kylander and her husband Lonny of Chapel Hill, Tammy Rene Steinert and her husband Jason of Julian, Sandy Gaye Wheeley and her husband Tim of Haw River, grandchildren; Amanda Etchison, Travis and Amy Kylander, T.J. Hill, Danielle Justice, Cody Myrick, Michael Baldwin, great grandchildren; Alexis and Austyn Etchison, Adiken Flynn, Bryleigh Flynn and Jordan Baldwin. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Debra Diana Edmonds. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Brown Wesleyan Church by Rev. Larry Pope and Rev. Billy Roy. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Brown Wesleyan Church and at other times at the home.
