Theresa King

Burlington-Elaine Straughan King, age 63, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at her home. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Kenneth Ray King. Sr. Elaine was employed with Glen Raven Mills for over 33 years and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church. She never met a stranger and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her children, Christy Atkins and husband, Kevin of Elon, Kenneth Ray King, Jr. of Graham, Devon Lopez and Fiance , Matt Craven of Graham and Heather Hicks and husband, Donald of Burlington; grandchildren, Courtney Kincer and husband, Zane of Burlington, Kristina Atkins of Elon, Skylar Baken of Graham, Amber Lopez of Graham, twins-Ethan and Gavin Lopez of Graham, Kadyn Hicks of Burlington and Wyatt Hicks of Burlington; father, Lynwood Russell Straughan and wife, Ruth of Burlington; sisters, Lisa Straughan and companion, Lisa Marie Bouchey of Thomasville and Roseanna Gordon and husband, Jarrell of Thomasville; brothers, Larry Baken and wife, Linda of Burlington, Roy Baken and wife, Glenda of Elon, Bryan Baken and wife Laurie of Thomasville and George Baken and wife, Sarah of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her mother and step father, JoeAnn Wrenn Baken and Larry Cone Baken. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Joe Seay. The family will receive friends from 1:45 until 2:45 pm prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Christy Atkins.
