Theo Ray Clark, Jr., 84, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the hospice home surrounded by his family. He was born in Asheville, NC to the late Theo Ray Clark, Sr. and Dorothy Burchette Harrison Clark. He was the husband of 31 years to Ami Kim Clark who survives.
Theo graduated from Lee H. Edwards High School in 1959 and was a member of the West Asheville Presbyterian Church. He had a deep appreciation for nature, often enjoying the beach and mountains. In his younger days, he was enthusiastic about sports such as basketball, football, and swimming, and even worked as a lifeguard during summers. Showing his patriotism, he dedicated 28 years to the US Air Force, including service in the Vietnam War, and later retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant (SMSGT). To even further his service for the love for his country, he worked for private military contractors for over 20 years with DynCorp and King Aerospace. Throughout his life, he resided mostly overseas and found his beloved wife in South Korea after retiring from the US Air Force. Finding happiness in the outdoors, he spent many hours on the porch enjoying the sounds of nature, watching sports, especially NASCAR, reflecting his passion for cars and spending time with his family. Theo was beloved by all who crossed paths with him. Known for his jovial nature, his laughter was contagious, and his wisdom profound, leaving a lasting impact on those around him. He adored his family and went above and beyond to ensure their happiness and pride. Theo’s life was a testament to the virtues of hard work, loyalty, and the importance of cherishing every moment. His memory lives in the hearts of his loved ones, a guiding light of inspiration and love.
