Mrs. Thelma Clark Wilson, age 86, formerly of Granville St. and recently of the Oaks of Alamance, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at her residence after several months of failing health. Born in Avery County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Madge Duckworth Clark and was married to the late Edward Blakely "Blake" Wilson, who passed away in 2003. She was a longtime member of Lowe Memorial Baptist Church where she formerly taught Junior Choir, was part of a quartet with her husband and sang in the church choir. She was also a past member of the American Business Women's Association. Mrs. Wilson is survived by a sister, Jean Page of Burlington; a brother, David Clark of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, August 24, 2012 at Lowe Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Bill Gindlesperger. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 2:45 Friday afternoon at the church prior to the service. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of the Oaks of Alamance and the staff of Hospice, especially her caregiver, Margaret Hatcher and her nurse, Ashley Thompson for all their generous and loving care given to Mrs. Wilson during her illness.
