Terry Smith

Elon-Terry Lane Smith, 60 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2017. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of the Patricia "Pat" Martin Smith who survives.
Terry was employed with Smith Rentals and was a member of The Gathering. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and gardening. Terry was an avid Tarheel fan and a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend,
Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter, Shannon Isley and husband, Ryan of Burlington; sons, Jonathan Smith and wife, Samantha of Wilmington, NC, Jeremy Martin of Massachusetts and Matthew Barnie of Elon; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Isley, Madison Isley, Marley Barnie and Taylon Benfield-Barnie; sister, Tommie Smith and husband, Rodney of Burlington; brothers, Bobby Warren Smith and wife, Sherrie of Burlington, Jerry Wayne Smith and wife, Cindy of Surfside, SC; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Bevil and Mattie Christina Herring Smith and a son, Scott Barnie.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. John Shields and the burial will follow at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Tommie and Rodney Smith.
