Teresa Fuquay

Teresa Kratz Fuquay, 53, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 4, 2015 while battling stage four colon cancer. She was born on July 6, 1962 in Pittsylvania County to the late Ronald A. Kratz and Betty Glass Kratz who survives, and was married to the late Phillip Allen Fuquay for 28 years when he died on March 4, 2015. Teresa was employed with Duke University for 26 years in Durham. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and church member who will be dearly missed. Survivors include her daughters whom she was proud of Michelle Fuquay and Carolyn Fuquay; brother, Ronald A. Kratz, Jr.; mother, Betty G. Kratz; brothers-in-law, James Scott Fuquay, Thomas Fuquay and wife, Jeannine; sister-in-law, Martha Fuquay and husband, George DeMuth; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip A. Fuquay; daughter, Lauren Katherine Fuquay; father, Ronald A. Kratz; brother-in-law, Charlie "Andy" Fuquay. The memorial service will be held 11:00am Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bill Gillespie. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hock Family Pavilion Hospice, 4023 N.
