Tammy Lea Stewart, 67, passed away peacefully at Blumenthal Health and Rehab in Greensboro after several years of failing health. She was born in Alamance County on October 8, 1957, to the late William Frederick Stewart, Sr. and Mildred Marie Hinshaw Stacey.

 Tammy grew up and lived in and around Burlington, North Carolina. She loved good music and was an avid reader, notably the classic rock and Stephen King variety. Tammy enjoyed crocheting and created many blankets and keepsakes for her children and grandchildren. She was quick witted and could hold her own, while remaining thoughtful and caring for those who knew her best. 

 She is survived by her daughter, Angela Marie Humphries Rector (Tony); son, Daniel Scott Riggleman (Larissa); grandchildren, Hunter Lynn Poole, Sage Quinn Rector (Ari), Jade Lee Rector, Autumn Ann Rector, Daniel Scott Riggleman Jr. (Mia), William Frederick Riggleman and great grandson, Nikolai Poole. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Butch Rector; daughter, Jamie Lou Riggleman; sisters, Barbara “Bobbie” Ann Harden, Susa Ruth McCutcheon, Lou Ann Stewart; brothers, William Frederick Stewart, Jr., Robert Wayne Stewart and Henry Alexander Stewart. 

 A service to celebrate Tammy’s life will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Reid Dickens. The family will receive friends following the service.
