Suzanne Hooper Walker

     Mrs. Suzanne Rose Hooper Walker, age 76, of Gibsonville, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at her residence after a sudden illness.

     Born in Union, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lindon Hooper and the late Orpha Jeanette Thorson Starks and was married for 50 years to the late Gene Calvin Walker, who passed in 2015.  She retired as a general manager with Kentucky Fried Chicken after 25 years of service.  Suzanne enjoyed traveling and having Sunday lunch with her sister, but the joy of her life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

     Suzanne is survived by her children, Cynthia Walker, Debbie Woody and Angela (Ernest) Wilborn and Dana Wolfe; grandchildren, Bryan (Catherine) Walker, Amanda (Scott) Matkins, Dustin Wilborn, Tyler Wilborn, Briana (Trey) Hines, Ashley (Mikey) Hernandez, Ethan Woody, River Wolfe and Nicole Wolfe; ten great grandchildren; her sister and best friend, Bonnie Deppert; and her canine companion, “Toby”.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; granddaughter, Krista Rhew; a sister, Carol Hathaway; and a brother, Lindon Hooper.

     A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Don Pegg.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 PM Wednesday prior to the service in the chapel and other times at Suzanne’s residence.
