William Steve Coble, age 65, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Paul Monroe and Mable Lou Sharpe Coble. He was a retired crane operator with Edwards Crane Service and home builder. Steve enjoyed offshore fishing and spending time with his loving grandchildren and many friends at the coast. Survivors include his stepdaughters, Angel Hayes Barnes and husband Chris of Youngsville, NC and Misty Hayes Patterson and husband Rob of Graham, NC; sisters, Ruth Brown and husband C.E. Brown, Helen Swinson and Sue Coble, all of Burlington; and brother, P.J. Coble and wife Donna of Burlington. Grandchildren, Savannah and Morgan Barnes of Youngsville, NC, Clay Bailey, Jackson and Knox Patterson of Graham, NC; loving nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 14, 2014 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bob Stephenson. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home following the service. The family would like to thank the staff on the 4th floor Oncology Unit at Duke Raleigh Hospital for the wonderful and thoughtful care of Mr.Coble.
