Stephen "Steve" Kyaw

Burlington-Stephen “Steve” Edward Kyaw, 66, went home to be with the Lord and his parents on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.  He was born in Mecklenburg County to the late Edward Henry and Virginia “Ginny” Smith Kyaw.

Steve retired from Food Lion after many years of service. He was a 1971 graduate of Walter M. Williams High School. Steve attended First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where he was a former deacon and trustee. He loved his church family and enjoyed attending Men’s fellowship and Young at Heart. He was an avid UNC fan enjoying basketball, football, and a variety of sports. Steve enjoyed his beloved cat and companion “Honey”.

Survivors include his sister, Janet “Jan” Kyaw Burwell and a niece, Kasey Kyaw Burwell Held and her husband, Weston.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 11:00am at First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church by Rev. Bryan P. Crotts and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45am prior to the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory are serving the family.
