Shirley Spoon

Shirley May Spoon, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at her home. She was born to the late James Fletcher and Stella Foust Carden and was married to the late Tommy Joe Spoon. Shirley was a member of North Graham Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her daughters, Amy Walters and husband Bobby of Mebane and Emily Ward of Burlington; sons, Thomas "Al" Spoon and Gary Spoon, both of Graham and grandchildren, Robbie Walters, Hannah Walters, Nathan Spoon, Lane Ward, Chad Ward and Bradlee Spoon. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, James Carden. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Walter Jones with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday at the funeral home and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
