Mrs. Shirley Mae Tucker Fields, age 86, of Greensboro, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Richland Place Assisted Living after a lengthy illness.
Born in Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Walter Tucker, Sr. and the late Minnie Via Tucker. She retired from the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles and was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Church. She volunteered with the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Alamance Regional Medical Center and helped make the stuffed clowns for the children.
Mrs. Fields is survived by her four children, Robert Travis Fields, Jr. and his wife Cindy, Vivian Fields Shambley and her husband Terry, Darron Keith Fields and his wife Lori, and Sharon Fields Whiting and her husband Nick; grandchildren, Ashleigh Shambley Dragnev (Milen), Brandon Shambley, Michelle Bailey (Gary), Elizabeth Fields, Chandler Fields, Madison Whiting, Cassidy Fields, Sarah Whiting, and Serena Fields; great grandchildren, Lila Bailey, Lucy Bailey, and Vera Dragnev; and siblings, Joanne Gill, Nancy Dillard, Wayne Tucker, Denise Kiser, and Bonnie Mabe. She was preceded in death by her parents of Madison and siblings, Oneda Cardwell, Freda Allen, Early Ray Tucker, Jessie Tucker Jr, and Donnie Lynn Tucker.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 4, 2022 at St. Mark’s Church Cemetery by Rev. Ben Bishop.
