Shirley Faircloth Mrs. Shirley Anne Cannady Faircloth, age 70, of 5118-K South N.C. 49 passed away Friday, August 1, 2008 at her home. A native of Harnett County, she was the wife of Charles Lester "C.L." Faircloth, who survives, and the daughter of the late Johnny Franklin and Vestal Byrd Cannady. She was a teacher and assistant principal at Williams High School, where she was named "Teacher of the Year", started the first Advanced Placement course at the school and touched the lives of hundreds of students over her thirty year career. She was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, Charles, of the home, survivors include two sons, David Charles Faircloth and wife, Debbie of Wake Forest, Randy L. Faircloth and wife, Chris of Burlington; grandchildren and the joy of her life, Emily, John, Sarah and Jacob; sisters, Willie Mae Branch and husband Howard of Raeford and Ramona Griffis of Kinston and special friend and caregiver, Grace Ingle. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday August 3, 2008 at the Bellemont United Methodist Church by Rev. Jerry Jackson, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Faircloth will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church for visitation and funeral services. The family will receive friends at Bellemont United Methodist Church from 1:00 2:45 PM Sunday, prior to the service.
