Sherry Sessoms Hester, 68, beloved wife, mother, and nana went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 surrounded by her family at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, she was born September 26, 1955 to the late R.F. and Alene Sessoms. She was the wife of 48 years to her husband, Ben Hester, of the home.
Sherry’s life was defined by her unwavering love and dedication to her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, creating memories that will be forever treasured. Her warm and nurturing presence brought comfort and happiness to all who knew her.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Ben; sons, Jason Hester (Ashley), Josh Hester (Madison); grandchildren, Dylan Hester and Emerson Hester; brother, Nick Sessoms; sister-in-law, Faye Boswell (Marvin); niece, Lexie Hester; nephews, Jeff Davis, Rob Sessoms and Jonathan Hester and special friend, Cyndi Porter. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Owen, sister-in-law, Anne Sessoms, and brothers-in-law, Carl Owen and Steve Hester.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Sherry’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Rich Fennell with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
