Shelba Ward

Shelba Stewart Ward, age 78 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2014. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late David Junior Ward. Shelba was employed in Textiles for many years and attended Hickory Mountain Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and collecting Depression glass. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughters, Natasha W. Watts and Tracy Watts of Greensboro and Debra and Mike McNair of Swepsonville; grandchildren, Brittany Jones, Luke Watts, Michael McNair, Jr. and Jennifer McNair and husband, Stephen Coble; great granddaughter, Emery Michele Coble; sister, Carolyn McAdams of Ramseur and a brother, Hall "Red" Stewart and wife, Judy of Burlington, a special friend Michael Payne of Greensboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, John Wesley and Edna Earl Merritt Stewart; brothers, John Wesley Stewart, Jr., Daniel Stewart, Charlie and Calvin Stewart. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 2:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel and burial will follow at Altamahaw Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home.
