Burlington, NC Seth Reese Shoe, age 77, of Mansfield Road went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at VA Medical Center in Durham. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of Jean Tucker Shoe who survives. Seth retired after 25 years with Southern Railway as an engineer. He was a member of Bibleway Community Church in Reidsville. Seth sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school and served as an Elder. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War and a member of the local DAV. Seth was an avid fisherman and golfer who loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Jean Tucker Shoe of the home; daughter, Pam Thomas and her husband, Greg of Graham; step daughters, Pam Andrews and her husband, Jeff of Burlington and Priscilla Hall and her husband, Kenny of Gibsonville; sons, Donald Shoe and his wife, Susan of Reidsville and Steven Shoe of Gibsonville; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sister, Nell Allison of Cheraw, South Carolina and a brother, Frank Shoe and his wife, Becky of Durham. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Joy Belle Shoe; parents, Roy Rosco and Gladys Hurley Shoe; step son, Clyde Wayne King and 8 brothers. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. C.A. "Sandy" Brown and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors by the 82nd Airborne Division. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to DAV Chapter, 4, P O Box 2202 , Burlington, NC 27216
