Selma Love

Graham-Selma Watkins Love, 81 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Home Place. She was a native of Wilkes County and the wife of 63 years to Rev. James Thomas "Tommy" Love who survives.
Selma was a homemaker and companion in ministry with her husband for many years. She was a faithful member of Wicker Street Baptist Church and very passionate about being a minster's wife. Selma enjoyed baking and especially for her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Nannie". She was a loving and devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. James Thomas "Tommy" Love of Graham; son, James Vernon Love of Graham; grandchildren, Amber Hepler and husband, Mike and Tanner and Connor Love; sisters, Fay Royal and Catherine "Cat" Absher both of N. Wilkesboro; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Dock and Agnes Swaim Watkins; daughter, Sherry Love Johnson and a twin sister, Thelma Shephard.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Home Place and Hospice along with her doctors and caregivers for their kind and compassionate care for Selma.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Wicker Street Baptist Church by Rev. Ricky Lewis assisted by Rev. David Jackson. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM on Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at 3349 Winston Drive in Burlington.
