Selma Dodd

Selma Parsons Dodd, 93, of Burlington passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at Hospice Home.
A native of Wilkes County, NC, she was the wife of the late Thomas Luther Dodd who passed away in 1988 and daughter of the late Rev. James Arthur and Tessie Parsons Parsons.
She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 23 years and sang in the choir for 34 years. She attended Alamance Community College to be a nurses assistant. After graduation, she worked at Memorial Hospital of Alamance from 1971 to 1996, then became a volunteer at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Dodd is survived by eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and five siblings, Arlee Andrews, Mabel Doggett, John Alfred Parsons, Hubert Byers and Ruby Brooks.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, June 20 at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Reading, pastor. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
Mrs. Dodd will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to the church where the family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45pm prior to the service.
