Browns-Summit-Sebren Luther "S.L."-"Uncle Son" Puckett, Jr. age 86, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of 62 years to Norma Webster Puckett who survives. Sebren retired from Newman Machine Shop and was a US Army veteran stationed in Hawaii during World War II. He enjoyed Nascar racing, attending many small tracks in the area. Sebren's favorite car maker was a Ford and he loved telling stories to his family and friends of his life experiences. Survivors include his wife, Norma Webster Puckett of the home; sisters, Lois Pardue of McLeansville and Mary Boyd of Supply; numerous nieces and nephews and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebren Luther Puckett, Sr. and Annie Loy Puckett; brothers, Jessie and Billy Puckett and a sister, Nannie Barrett. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by rev. Larry Andrews and the burial will follow with military honors at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
