Sarah H. Cox, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County to the late Ivan Vestal Hutson and Nora Florence Ross Hutson. She was the wife of 65 years to William Mart Cox, Sr. who survives.
Sarah was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church for 66 years. She was a loving, devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will always be a Christian role model for the family of God’s love to be shared with everyone. She lived a life where simple truth, love, and caring was important every day. Sarah was faithful in her “card ministry” to reach out to others in need and on special occasions. Front porch visits in the swings with family and friends are memories we will cherish.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Beverly Lee and husband, Dean of Mt. Olive; Eva Ayers and husband, Mark; son, Marty Cox and wife Emma; grandchildren, Nicole Kennedy (Scotty), Nicholas Lee (Lindsey), Lauren Davenport (Wade), Ethan Ayers, Cory Cox (Jamey) and Zachary Cox; great grandchildren, Tyler Kate Kennedy, Tarren and Zander Lee, Joseph, Hunter and Wyatt Crews; sister-in-law, Polly Cox and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with visitation immediately following. The Burial will be held 12:00 noon on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Alamance Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate or AuthoraCare Collective https://www.authoracare.org/give/donate-online/. To honor Sarah’s card ministry, “Thinking of You cards” will be provided by the family for you to send to someone you love or needs encouragement.
