Sarah Jane Smith
Burlington-Sarah Jane Smith Smith, 92 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Edgewood Place. She was born in Randolph County to the late Elvin T. and Maude Jordan Smith and was the wife of the late Wister William Smith.
Sarah was a supervisor at Liberty Hosiery for many years and she later worked for Huey's Seafood, and Prago-Guyes, and Avon Clothing. She most recently was employed with Burlington Insurance prior to her retirement. Sarah enjoyed reading, cooking, working, and raising her family.
Survivors include her sons, Wister Gerald Smith and wife, Judy, of Alabama; Steve Blair Smith and wife, Linda, of Pleasant Garden; and Phillip Ray Smith and wife, Wanda, of Snow Camp; grandchildren, Casey Smith, Brian Smith and wife, Melissa, and Ambra Wilson and husband, Jeff; great grandchildren, Austin Smith, Cayden Wilson and Corbin Wilson; brothers, Herbert Smith of New Bern and Ralph Smith of Liberty. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brothers, Franklin, Marvin and John Smith and sisters, Kathleen Shoffner and Francis Kimrey.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Jeff Knudson located at 3572 Greensboro Chapel Hill Road, Liberty, NC 27298.
