Sandra Hawkins

Sandra Simpson Hawkins, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Hospice Home. She was born in Alamance County to the late Russell Willard and Dorothy Bradford Jordan Simpson and was married for 43 years to Billy Jerome "Mr. Bill" Hawkins, who died in 2011. She retired from GKN after 30 years of service.

She is survived by her son, Rusty Shawn Hawkins and Wendy Shambley; grandchildren, Ethan and Caleb Hawkins; sister, Margie Ward and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Travis Hawkins, sister, Ruby Pass and a brother, Larry Simpson.

The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Jean Lucy, Betty Hawkins, Jay Pass, Sue and Gary Cox, Becky Joyce, Barbara Greeson, Patsy Fogleman Ward Well, Karen Martin, and the nurses and staff at Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening, September 13, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Burlington Animal Shelter, 215 Stone Quarry Rd., Haw River, NC 27258 or to the Hospice Home,
