Samuel Reed

Samuel Henry Reed, 63, of Ivey Rd. went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center following several years of failing health. He was the husband of Delores Cherry Reed, and was born October 15, 1948 in Long Island, NY to Kate Booker Reed who survives and the late John Marshall Reed. Sam had worked for Alamance Memorial Hospital then Alamance Regional Medical Center. He served in the US Army and was a member of the World of Pentecost Church. He was very active in the church serving as an usher and a choir member. Survivors include his wife of the home, daughters, Latonda Cherry of Graham, Crystal Curtis Slade of Graham, sons, Vincent Shauna Reed of Graham, Anthony Plummer of Long Island, NY, mother Kate Reed of Long Island, NY, sisters, Lucille Wilburn Wilson of CA, Janet Reed of Long Island, NY, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, a grandson Bradycks Q. Reed and a sister Bernice Brady. The funeral will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at the World of Pentecost Church by Pastor Kenny Godair. Interment will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1:30 -2:30 Sunday prior to the service and at other times at the home of his son Vincent 719 Sycamore Rd., Graham.
