Samuel "Sammy" Gardner, Jr.

Mr. Samuel Tilden “Sammy” Gardner, Jr., age 65, of Graham, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.

     Born in Rowan County, NC, he was the son of the late Samuel T. Gardner and Mrs. Mary Owens Gardner, who survives and was married for over 42 years to Mrs. Kimberly Poindexter Gardner, who survives.  Sammy was a welder by trade and did steel fabrication work.  He loved the outdoors and was a “backyard artist” with his landscaping.  He also was known for leaving garden gnomes at various outdoor places for people to enjoy and he was an avid Carolina Panther fan.

     Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife of the home; two children, Shannon Gardner and Eric Gardner and wife, Aceneth; three grandchildren, Addison Parrott, Dylan Parrott and Luna Gardner; his mother; and a brother, George Gardner.

     A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, January 2, 2023 at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery by Pastor Stu Johnston. The family will receive friends following the service at the gravesite.  Mr. Gardner will be available for public viewing from 12:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
