Sammy Beckom

Mr. Sammy Ronald Beckom, age 60, of Elon, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Ken Beckom and Mrs. Louise Gibson Beckom, who survives and was married for 12 years to Mrs. Angela Beckom, who survives. He retired from Carolina Biological after 35 years of service and was an active member of the Democratic National Committee. He loved opera, was an avid reader, an amateur geologist & scientist and had interest in the arts and crafts.
Sam is survived by his wife of the home; his mother of Pleasant Garden; a niece, Lily Nawa and nephew, J.T. Puryear, both of Eden; daughter of his heart, Amanda Richards of Dallas, TX; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
