Sallie Greeson

Sallie Benner Greeson, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital. Sallie was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ and a member of the Whitener Bible Class. She had a love for cooking, gardening and sewing. Sallie will be greatly missed by her family and community. She is survived by her daughter, Ruby Greeson Wright and her husband, Glenn of Liberty; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren and 1 step grandson and a sister, Hilda Benner Pell of Asheboro; son-in-law, H. W. Coble of Julian and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Greeson of Whitsett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Lee Greeson; her daughter, Lorena Greeson Coble and her son, Connie Greeson. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ by Rev. Lloyd Spencer and Dr. Matthew Pinson and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Mt. Hope U.C.C.
