Ruth Williams

Burlington, NC Ruth Fox Williams, 91, of the Homeplace of Burlington, 118 Alamance Road, Burlington died on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Hospice Home. She was the wife of the late Clyde F. Williams for over 60 years and the daughter of Henry S. and Nora Frances Dark Fox, both deceased. She retired as an auditor from Western Electric after over 20 years of service. She was born in Chatham County but lived most of her life in Alamance County. She was a member of Haw River Christian Church. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Frances W. Sumner and husband Herbert of Graham; two sons, Mr. C. Frank Williams and wife Joanne of East Hanover, N.J., and Mr. Donald P. Williams and wife Cindy of Burlington; sister, Betty Fox Lamb of Asheboro; five grandchildren, Steven Sumner of Graham, Michael Sumner of Greensboro, Todd Williams, Chad Williams and Lisa Hayden all of Burlington; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Mr. Richard Michael Williams; one sister, Elma Fox Crisco, three brothers; Mr. Clifton Fox, Mr. Ralph Fox, and Mr. Fulton Fox; and three grandchildren, Melissa Williams, Tara Wiles, and Donna Wrenn. Our family would like to express their many thanks to the director, Bonnie Thompson and her staff at Homeplace Assisted Living of Burlington and to Hospice for all the loving care she received. The family wants to thank her personal physician, Dr. Sam Morayati and her many friends for their love and support. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. James Rosser. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
