Ruth Thompson

Ruth Ellen Dixon Lindsay Thompson, 80, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of 22 years to Delford Phillip Thompson who survives. Ruth was employed with Friends Home in Greensboro as a RN. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elon. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Delford Phillip Thompson of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, James "Jim" and Vicky Lindsay of Tennessee, Jon Michael Lindsay of Georgia and Kelly Robert and Tara Lindsay of Stone Mountain, GA; daughters, Shannon Lindsay of Powder Spring, GA and Lori Lindsay of Jacksonville, FL; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; sister, Mable Jean Crumb of Boise, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Elijah and Mary Seymour Dixon. The graveside service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Keith Sexton. The family will receive friends at the granddaughter, Jamie Benson's home in Burlington.
