Ruth Brooks

Ruth Snipes Brooks, 96, formerly of Roxboro passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Twin Lakes Nursing Center. She was the widow of the late Rev. James Boyce Brooks and was born September 29, 1913 in New Hanover County to the late Lonnie Eugene and Ethel Herring Snipes. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elon. Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Jo Ellen Godfrey of High Point, sons; William H. Brooks of Raleigh, James "Jim" Brooks, Jr. of Butner, nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of her life Sunday September 26, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Elon, 621 E. Haggard Ave, Elon, NC by Rev. Mark Mofield. The family will receive friends 12:15 to 1:15 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to First Baptist Church of Elon, 621 E. Haggard Ave, Elon, NC, 27244.
