Burlington Runa "Granny" Johnson May, 91 of Burlington passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Hospice Home. She was born in Chatham County to the late Jasper and Deecie Campbell Johnson and was married for 57 years to the late James C. May. She retired from Lemco Mills and was a member of Brick Reformed Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and her greatest passion was being a great grandmother and playing with her great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Travis White of Burlington; grandchildren, Brad Jenny White of Gibsonville and Jay Katie White of Burlington; great grandchildren, Cooper White and Kinley White; and a sister, Alma Bowman of Kimesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson, Kyle White, great granddaughter, Raegan White, six brothers and two sisters. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday at Brick Reformed Church by Pastor Tim Riddle with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the daughter's home, 1938 Wheeler Bridge Rd., Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
