Rufus Hardy Saul, age 76, of Trail 5 passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Hospice Home. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Rufus Lemuel and Manie Evans Saul, a life member of Bethlehem Christian Church and retired employee of AT&T. Rufus is survived by his wife Brenda Saul of the home; sons, Ronald Eugene Saul and wife Dawnn of Elon and Randall Earl Saul and wife Ann of Liberty; grandchildren, Brandon Saul and wife Amanda, Randy Saul, Sheridan Saul, Deanna Saul and Elainie Denny; great grandchild, Graysen Saul; sister, Nannie Mae Page of Elon; step daughters, Laurie Newlin of Burlington and Nicole Sessoms of Mebane; step son Tony Abernathy and wife Lian of Hawaii; step grandchildren, Samantha, Tyson, Olivia, Jake, Zack and Luke. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Willie Saul, Buck Saul and Willard Saul and sisters, Edna Saul and Pauline Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Bethlehem Christian Church by Rev. Dave Gilbert. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. Mr. Saul will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Friday and at the residence at other times. The family would like to thank Hospice and Always Best Care for the extra special care their caregivers gave Rufus.
