Rufus Boone

Snow Camp - Rufus Earl Boone, 79, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Hospice Home. He was born October 25, 1936 in Durham County to the late Walter Reed Boone and Florence Shephard Boone. He was the husband of 50 years to Mary Riggans Boone who survives. Rufus was a retired Cotton Mill employee. Survivors other than his wife, Mary include his daughters, Susan Bradley and husband, Destry, Debbie Boone Cook and Mindy Boone Lynn; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joellen Sykes; a grandson, David Alcon; a sister, Marie Williams and a brother, Kenneth Boone. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Monday January 4, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tommy Bright with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45pm Monday prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence and at the daughter, Susans home, 2958 Quakenbush Road, Snow Camp, NC 27349.
