Ruby Dartez Scoggins

Ruby Dartez Scoggins passed away on July 16, 2024 at 95 years of age. She was born in Homewood, LA to Ophelious and Odelia Dartez. She married Everette Vance Scoggins on August 10, 1946 and was married for 70 years until his passing in 2016. They met during WWII while he was stationed in Lake Charles, LA. She and Everette enjoyed traveling the country in their camper and visiting relatives in LA. Her passions were her family, doll collecting, and Cajun cooking, which she would often share with family and friends.

Ruby was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Ruby was predeceased by 11 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Gabriel (Mike) and Vicky Faucette (Sam); three grandchildren, Kim Drews, Andy Gabriel, and Shannon Hoffman (Steve); two great-grandchildren, Savannah Drews and Sofia Gabriel; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank AuthoraCare/Hospice, Shiela Worth, and the many caregivers for their aid and compassion during Ruby’s period of declining health.

A service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
