Gibsonville, NC Ruby Lowe Ray, age 97, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Twin Lakes Health Care Center. She was a native of Guilford County and the wife of the late William Rankin Ray. Ruby was a homemaker and long time member of Friedens Lutheran Church and the church choir. She was a member of the Powlas Group and AIA Seniors Club in Gibsonville. Ruby was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Greeson and her husband, James of Gibsonville; son, Howard Ray of Whitsett; grandchildren, Lisa Wallace Kale of Whitsett, Linda Michael Hunt of Gibsonville, Kenneth Greeson of Gibsonville and Kimberly Brian Williard of Mebane; great grandchildren, Tyler Hunt, Travis Hunt, Brian Kale and Adalyn Williard; three great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Helen Lowe of Greensboro and Lucille Ray of Gibsonville; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Henry Sampson and Bertha Brown Lowe; sisters, Mae Apple, Alma Smith and Gladys Martin; brothers, Ernest, Glen and H. S. Lowe, Jr. and an infant brother, Orius Lowe. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Twin Lakes for their kind and compassionate care of Ruby. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Friedens Lutheran Church by Rev. William C. Zima, II and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her daughter in Gibsonville.
