Ruby Lee Chriscoe Lassiter, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Liberty Commons surrounded by her family. She was born on October 11, 1933 in Alamance County to the late Henry Harrison Chriscoe and Maude Agnes Cooper Chriscoe.
In the past, Ruby had worked in childcare and formerly worked at Wrightenberry’s in Graham and Pledges Department Store. She was a graduate of EM Holt High School and a member of Kimesville Road Baptist Church, where she was known for her persimmon pudding. Ruby enjoyed being outdoors, going on nature walks, watching the wildlife that God created, feeding the hummingbirds, fishing and sewing. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Lassiter Harrison and husband Butch; a son, Warren Lee Lassiter and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Erica Gerner and husband Kyle, Lowell Harrison and wife Elizabeth, Cory Harrison and significant other Leah Brightly; great grandchildren, Kyleigh Gerner, Korbin Gerner, Willow Horn, Sebastian Brightly and Jett Lee Harrison; and several nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Lassiter; and her siblings, Blanche Euliss, Gladys Smith, Alton Chriscoe, Elvin Chriscoe, Cecil Chriscoe, Ruth Dishman and Henry Chriscoe.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Liberty Hospice staff and nurses for all their loving care and compassion that was shown to their mother during her illness.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Ruby will be held at 2:00pm Monday, June 3, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Richard Silver with the burial to follow at Kimesville Road Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm Monday prior to the service and other times at the son’s residence.
