Ruby Forbis

Mrs. Ruby Massey Forbis, age 82, of 1206 Dogwood St., Burlington passed away Friday March 13, 2009 at her home. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Bryant E. Forbis and daughter of the late Otis Roosevelt O.R. "Ted" and Lila Pennington Massey. She was a former employee of Shadowbrook Corp. and a member of People's Memorial Christian Church. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Bryant Eugene Forbis of the home; sons; Mike Forbis and wife Anne, Steve Forbis and wife June and Doug Forbis and wife Denise all of Burlington; daughters, Penny Taylor and husband Charles of Burlington and Melanie Forbis of the home. 10 grandchildren and15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Naomi M. Wagoner. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday March 16, 2009 at People's Memorial Christian Church by Rev. John Shields, pastor. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Forbis will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until she is taken to the church where the family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 PM Monday, prior to the funeral service.
