Ruby Yarbrough Capps, 69, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Person County on October 7, 1953 to the late Reuben Lindy and Colene Whitfield Yarbrough.
Ruby graduated from Eastern Alamance High School and went on to receive her Masters in Speech and Language Pathology at Appalachian State University. For years she was employed with the Alamance-Burlington School System as a Speech Pathologist working primarily with preschoolers. Ruby was a happy and eclectic individual with a bright personality and infectious laugh. She loved Jesus and found great hope and comfort in her Christian faith. She also loved people and enjoyed having a good time. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Treniss Ann Capps and wife Hannah; granddaughter, Zella Colene Capps; sister, Rebecca Lynn Simmons and husband Randy and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Phillip Ray Yarbrough.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held 2-4pm on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. In honor of Ruby, the family requests that everyone dress in casual, bright- colored attire and to feel free to share any memories or stories you may have during that time
