Roza Husenovic

Burlington, NC Roza Husenovic, age 96 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. Roza and Dervice Husenovic, with their children, Frank, Christina and Vera came to America in 1951 sponsored by the First Christian United Church of Christ. Her husband, Dervice, passed away in 1965 and Frank, her son, decided to live at home with his Mom and sisters after graduating from the NC School for the Deaf in Morganton, NC. Frank married Yvette and they continued to live with Roza. Frank and his wife, Yvette Smith Schiretz have two children, Sari Schiretz Green living in Apex, NC and Rich Schiretz in Burlington. One of Roza's greatest joys was her first and only great grandson, Sari's son, Taylor Green. Chris Braun and her husband, Neil and Vera Reeder and her husband, Steve all live in the Burlington area near by their mom. Roza retired from Carolina Hosiery at age 65 and happily cared for her grandchildren at home, that was indeed a blessing for the children and her. She proudly told everyone she knew how wonderful it was to have never lived alone. Roza was a devoted member of the First Christian United Church of Christ and rarely missed a Sunday until her health began deteriorating about a year ago. She loved gardening and until the age of 94 could be found working in the vegetable or flower garden. Roza cherished her family, her church and her friends and she clearly demonstrated that through her actions. She "Walked the Talk" of love, kindness, hard work, patriotism, and most of all, God. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Pickett . The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home. There will be a private graveside service for the family. The family would like to thank the Hospice Staff for providing her the care and lack of suffering she had; our pastor, Rev. Mark Pickett and close friends who helped us these last few years and especially days and weeks before her passing. May God bless each and every one of you.
